A Prayer for Patience

When waiting is wearing you down, or your temper is short, you can ask God to grow patience in you. This is a short prayer for patience.

Lord, I am not good at waiting, and I am quick to frustration. Slow me down, and soften the edges of my heart. Give me patience with the people around me, and with myself, and with your timing that is not my own. Where I want to force things, teach me to trust. Help me hold on gently, believing that what you are doing is worth the wait. Grow your steadiness in me. Amen.
