A Prayer for Grief

When you are grieving, there are no right words, only the ache of love that has nowhere to go. This is a prayer for grief and loss, for the days that come in waves.

God of comfort, my heart is heavy with loss, and some days I can barely carry it. You are near to the brokenhearted, so be near to me now. Catch every tear, and sit with me in the silence. Where memories bring sorrow, let them also bring gratitude. Hold the one I miss in your care, and hold me here until joy can return. I trust that love is not lost in you. Amen.
