A Prayer of Gratitude

Gratitude turns what we have into enough. This is a short prayer of thanksgiving, for the gifts easy to overlook.

Thank you, God. For breath and morning light, for the people who love me, for mercy I did not earn, thank you. Open my eyes to the goodness I walk past without noticing. Where I have been quick to complain, make me quick to give thanks. Let gratitude soften me and settle me. Even in what is unfinished and imperfect, I can see your kindness. My heart is full, and I give the thanks back to you. Amen.
