A Prayer for Forgiveness

When guilt weighs on you, or when you are struggling to forgive, prayer is where you can be honest. This is a prayer for forgiveness, to receive it and to give it.

Merciful God, I come to you honestly, with the things I have done and left undone. Thank you that your mercy is greater than my failure. Wash away my guilt and give me a clean, quiet heart. And where I am holding a wound against someone, help me to let it go, not because it did not hurt, but because I want to be free. Teach me to forgive as I have been forgiven. Amen.
