A Prayer for Recovery
Recovery is fought one day, sometimes one hour, at a time. This is a short prayer for freedom from addiction and strength to keep going.
God, I am powerless over this on my own, and I need you. Thank you that with every temptation you provide a way out; help me take it today. Give me the strength to get through this hour, and then the next. Break the hold this has on me, and heal the ache underneath it that I have been trying to numb. Surround me with people who will walk this road with me. When I stumble, lift me up again without shame. One day at a time, keep me. Amen.
