A Prayer for Our Country
In anxious or divided times, you can pray for your nation. This is a short prayer for our country and its people.
Lord, I bring our country to you, with all its beauty and all its brokenness. Where we are divided, be our peace; where there is injustice, raise up what is right; where there is fear, bring hope. Give wisdom and humility to those who lead, and turn our hearts toward one another and toward you. If your people will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wrong, you have promised to hear and to heal. So we humble ourselves and ask: heal our land. Amen.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
