A Prayer for a Sick Child

Few things are harder than a child who is ill. This is a short prayer for a sick child, to pray at the bedside or through a sleepless night.

Loving God, my child is sick, and I would take their place if I could. You love them even more than I do, so I place them gently in your hands. Ease their pain and calm their fear. Bring healing to their small body, and give wisdom to the doctors and nurses caring for them. Steady me too, so I can be calm and strong for them. Where I can only wait and watch, help me wait in trust. Hold my child close tonight, and hold me. Amen.
