A Prayer Against Temptation

In the moment of pull, a short prayer can be a lifeline. This is a prayer for strength against temptation.

Lord, I feel the pull toward the very thing I do not want to do, and I need your help right now, not later. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, so be my strength where I am weak. Thank you that you always provide a way out; show it to me, and give me the will to take it. Guard my eyes, my thoughts, and my steps. Get me through the next few minutes, and the craving will pass. Hold me steady. Deliver me from evil. Amen.
