A Bedtime Prayer for a Child

A gentle prayer to pray over a child at the end of the day, short enough to say together and soft enough to fall asleep on.

Dear God, thank you for this day and for this child you love even more than we do. As the light goes out and the house grows quiet, keep them safe through the night. Fill their sleep with peace and their dreams with good things. Take away any fear of the dark, and let them wake happy and rested in the morning. Bless them, and everyone they love, and hold them close until the sun comes up. Amen.
